Lisa and I have a great history. We found each other when she was looking for a wedding photographer and shortly after photographing her wedding in August of 2007 she came to work for me (cuz I'm so much fun). : P  She did leave over a year later when she was expecting Madeleine so that she could focus on being a Mommy and find work closer to home. I just miss her and her great sense of humor a ton and since our lives keep us so busy it's a huge treat for me to be able to spend time with these two fantastic girls. And, as expected, while talking each other's ears off there is a great deal of picture taking as well. : )

Jen and Emmanuel brought me to D.C., where Jen lives, to photograph their engagement session. I was so excited on the drive down that I could not sleep so when the three of us (hubby and son) arrived in DC I was wired. The boys and I spent time together running around D.C. to see and do all we could manage to cram into a day. It was incredible and we are hoping to get back soon to see all that we missed (and we missed alot). I had the pleasure of seeing the Jefferson Memorial twice, once during our "walkabout" and again the day of the session as Jen selected it and the FDR Memorial which was just down the road from JM for their shoot. JM stole my heart with its soaring columns and incredible architecture constructed of marble and limestone. FDR was amazing as well and in the summer months the recessed areas are filled with water...I can only imagine how gorgeous that is. There is just SO much to photograph. I'd love to torture another couple in D.C. by dragging them around for hours so I'm hoping to get back to see Jen and Emmanuel again. : )

Thank you for an incredible time guys. Every time I think of D.C. I will be reminded of you!

I think the wind just comes out to play when I'm shooting. ; P We had a blast as we tried to find respite from the gale force winds. Our time together was pretty humorous as well. I lost my balance after I lost my shoe in a mud patch that was more like quicksand. So, when you're falling with camera equipment in your hands and your shoe is stuck in the mud, what do you do? You catch your balance as quick as you can and while doing so you inadvertently stick your socked foot in the mud just centimeters from your shoe. Then you laugh. Thank you both for being wonderful and smiling even while your teeth were chattering. You are both so incredibly kind and I am really looking forward to meeting your families!
