What a gorgeous day! The sun decided to hang out for a while and white puffy clouds filled the sky. Jen looked absolutely fabulous in her dress and Jason was the total stud sporting his movie star smile. These two are such a genuinely sweet couple and a ton of fun to photograph. I anxiously await the arrival of their babies so that I can get them in front of my lens again and if I remember correctly their blessing included a wish for a small colony of Kaffenberger children. Bonus! : )

Exquisite. If I had to choose just one word to describe Marni and Brett's wedding that word would fit in every aspect. Marni was radiant and Brett was beaming. The chemistry between these two is electric and they are a joy to work with. Their family and friends were an incredibly fun and fantastic group of people who welcomed us as if we were their own and I can't thank them enough for their kindness. I only wish they lived in Michigan. But, hey, I love Chicago so that gives me a reason to look them up when I'm in town!

Erin and David exchanged the most touching and heartfelt vows which brought much of the crowd to tears (including yours truly). The ceremony was also laced with a bit of humor and if you know these two you would expect a laugh (or five). They're a match made in heaven and every glance and non verbal gesture between them leaves no question as to how much in love they truly are. They are destined for a wonderful life together and, I think, many, many (many) children. : )

I am guilty. Guilty of neglecting my hair and visiting my stylist twice per year despite the need for frequent visits. I am also guilty for complaining about the fact that I can't get to the stylist to do something about my hair that I dislike at least 8 months out of the year. Today I decided make a change and I did something about it - I chopped it off and I gave. 12 inches of hair in a tightly wrapped pony will be sent to Locks of Love, a well known non-profit organization that transforms donated hair into wigs for children 18 and younger who have lost their own hair from disease and medical conditions. Was it easy to part with? One would think it would have been a difficult decision for someone who's had long hair for the last 15+ years, but once I was in the chair I had no doubts. It feels so good to give and I encourage anyone considering the same to set aside their worries and just do it. Give someone the opportunity to have what they otherwise would not...pay it forward. : )

SHAMELESS PLUG: to my fantabulous stylist, Peter, of Vanity in Birmingham, I thank you. I encourage anyone in search of an amazing stylist to give Peter and his crew a call at 248.723.4433. I guarantee you'll love his work and his refreshingly positive personality as well!

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of their firstborn, Lisa and Kyle opted for an intimate, in-home session to capture the range of emotions shared between husband and wife (and even furbabies) as they embark on the roller coaster ride that is Parenthood. As their wedding photographer (aug 06) I feel blessed to be part of their experience and I look forward to meeting the newest addition to the family in April! Much love to you both!!
